The short version
Starlight Dolls: Dress Up is a game for children. We built it so that it collects nothing.
- We collect no personal information from anyone, children or adults.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. There are no third-party SDKs for advertising or analytics in the game.
- Everything stays on your device. Outfits, settings, saved looks and pictures are never sent to us. We have no servers that receive them.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see payment details, names or email addresses.
Who we are
This policy covers the Starlight Dolls: Dress Up app for iPad and Android, and this website, starlightdolls.com. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Starlight Dolls: Dress Up. You can reach us at [email protected].
What stays on your device
To let you pick up where you left off, the game keeps a few things in its own storage on your device:
- the outfit you are wearing, your settings (such as sound on or off), and the looks you save in My Looks, with their names and favorites;
- the snapshot pictures you choose to save. On iPad they go to the app's folder in Files and, if you allow it, to Photos. On Android they go to the Pictures › Starlight Dolls folder.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Saved looks are deleted when you delete the app. Snapshot pictures in Photos or your Pictures folder are yours, and stay there until you delete them.
The game does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, device identifiers, location, contacts, the camera or the microphone.
Purchases
The Halloween, Christmas and summer collections are optional one-time purchases. They are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, behind a grown-up check in the game. Apple or Google processes the payment under their own terms and privacy policies:
The game only asks the store which collections are unlocked on this device, so it can show them. We do not receive your name, email address, payment details or purchase history. On Android, the Google Play Billing Library that handles purchases may send Google its own diagnostic information, which Google handles under its privacy policy.
Parents can use Ask to Buy on Apple devices and purchase approvals on Google Play to approve each purchase.
Permissions
- iPad: Add to Photos. Asked the first time a snapshot is saved, so the picture can be added to Photos. If you say no, the picture stays in the app's folder in Files.
- Android 9 and older: Storage. Only so snapshots can be saved to your Pictures folder. Newer Android versions don't need it.
The game asks for no other permissions.
Children's privacy
Starlight Dolls: Dress Up is made for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live), or from anyone else, and the game has no way for a child to share personal information with us or with other players. There is no chat, no social features and no contact with other people in the game.
Purchases and the link to this website from inside the game sit behind a grown-up check: a multiplication question asked in words, which young children can't easily answer. We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR and UK GDPR, Apple's Kids Category guidelines and Google Play's Families Policy.
If you believe a child has somehow sent us personal information, for example by email, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR or California's CCPA give you the right to access, correct or delete personal information a company holds about you. Because the game collects none, there is nothing about you for us to access, correct or delete. If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and delete it when we no longer need it to help you. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
This website
starlightdolls.com is a plain static website. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, ads or trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running; we don't use them to identify or profile visitors.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game handles information, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches the app. We will never begin collecting personal information from children without first meeting the legal requirements, including verifiable parental consent where it's needed.
